Emptiness

Emptiness is a
Feeling like no other,
A feeling when you
Have nothing inside,
It’s not fear,
For you’re not afraid,
It’s not hatred
For your not hating,

And it is not loneliness,
Being lonely is regretting
Something or wishing
You have done something,
But still dreaming that
Someday your dream
Will come true..

Emptiness is like
Sitting on a shore
And watching the
Ships sailing away,
And hearing the waves
Crash on the rocks,
And feeling the
Breeze blow by
And watching the clouds
Overhead move by

And then realize
That the ships are
Dreams that you
Once lived in,
The waves are
Your heart beat
The clouds are
Your loved ones

And the breeze is
Your thoughts
That once spoke
So much but are
Now silent, the
Ocean is your soul,

And there you sit
Away from it all,
Disconnected from
It all as if there
Not even yours,
Your dreams, thoughts,
There miles away,
And the beat of your
Heart or the waves
Aren’t even in you…

Emptiness is when
You feel so disconnected
From everything that
You knew so much,
That you disconnect
From yourself,
And you’re not sure
Of anything,
Not sure of who
You are inside,

Emptiness is when
You are so far gone
From yourself that
You can’t even recognize
You heart, dreams
Of thoughts, friends,
You’re so far gone
From yourself,
And your not
Even chasing anything,
Or being pulled
By a current,
You’re just drifting,
Where your once an
Ocean and now your
Just a lake or pond…

True emptiness
Is not only
Drifting away
From yourself…
But drifting apart.
